Rewiring the brain is an essential part of the eating disorder recovery process, so that you can 'wire in' recovery positive actions, thoughts and behaviours and 'wire out' the old disordered pathways.
In this episode, I discuss the basics of what neuroplasticity (or rewiring) actually is.  In future episodes I will go into more details.

Many people in eating disorder recovery can be doing well, making changes, eating more, breaking habits but instead of recognising their progress, remain down with themselves because they are still restricting or engaging in behaviours and so say they have 'failed' at recovery.
This episode is to say that recovery is a process and even if it is not perfect from day one does not mean you have failed!

A common thought pattern for people with eating disorders which can keep someone in the illness or lead to a slide back in recovery, is the 'I didn't eat that much yesterday, so I don't need to today' thinking.
In this episode I talk about this common issue in recovery and that one way to overcome it is to keep aiming to make sure each day in recovery is your best yet.

In eating disorder recovery, many people experience high levels of hunger, something commonly referred to as 'extreme hunger'.
In this episode, I talk about the fact that 'feast follows famine' when it comes to any period of restriction and never more so than when recovering from an eating disorder.  Listening to the urge to feast eat and going with it is a key part of recovery!
